5.1.4 Orientation

New Student Orientation is an essential and required first step to becoming integrated into the Westminster community. As its name implies, it is meant to orient you to life as a student by providing you with essential policy and procedural information, helping you to understand what life will be like during your time here, and casting a vision for how you can make the most of this opportunity. Furthermore it is of great benefit to incoming students by introducing you to the personnel who will be serving you in the days to come, taking care of the administrative details that will make your transition smoother and to give you a chance to begin connecting with your fellow classmates. For these reasons and more, New Student Orientation is mandatory. If, because of extenuating circumstances, you are not able to attend Orientation, special written permission must be obtained by the Dean of Student Development prior to Orientation. If you neglect to obtain this special permission or fail to attend orientation, a $100.00 administrative fee will be charged to your student account.
