Called to Pastoral Ministry
Hunter Powell (M.Div. '07)
Rev. Dr. Hunter Powell is a Westminster graduate and currently associate pastor of Guilford Baptist Church in Washington, D.C., teaming up with fellow Westminster graduate, Mike McKinley (M.Div. ’04). "There’s a reason we’re studying these things, and there’s a reason we’re debating them, and that’s ultimately to change lives and point people to Jesus."
Westminster Theological Seminary is working hard to provide its alumni with the best opportunities for work. In the future, we will have a "Career Placement" page available exclusively for alumni. For now, if your ministry has any job openings, or if you are looking for work, please visit our Employment Opportunities page.
Mission to Uganda
David Landow, M.Div. Pastoral student
David Landow, a student in the M.Div. Pastoral program, has been called by the Lord to spend his summer in Uganda. He will be the intern for the Orthodox Presbyterian Church’s Mission in Uganda: “I leave June 20th, and I’ll be there through August 31st, so a little over 10 weeks. I’ll be up in Northeastern Uganda, an area called Karamoja, living with the Karamajong people. The OPC has had a mission there for over a decade.”
Congratulations, Dr. Ribera!
Dr. Daniel Ribera (M.A.R. '83) successfully defended his doctoral dissertation, The Meaning and Practice of the Integration of Faith and Learning, at Seattle Pacific University. Click here to read a one-page abstract of Dr. Ribera's dissertation.

“ ... it may be a surprise that in the First World War Machen chose not to fight as a warrior. Instead he regularly risked his life in embattled France as a humanitarian non-combatant serving with the YMCA ... This volume rounds out our understanding of Machen the brilliant scholar by also revealing him as a servant of Christ to needy and suffering soldiers.”
- From the foreword by Peter A. Lillback
Publisher's Description: Never before published, here is a glimpse into the formative years of a great campaigner for the faith ... and a stirring example of how the faith of a seminary professor was refined and strengthened through the trials of war.
Westminster Alumnus Barry Waugh (MAR '80, MDiv '81, PhD '02) adds commentary and footnotes to provide essential guidance for fully understanding Machen's service and ministry.
This offer is exclusively for Westminster alumni, and may be used one time between now and the end of July.
