Supporting Alumni

Graduation Banquet

The Westminster campus is quiet today; only students in Summer Hebrew 3 are around. It’s a change from the excitement last week as Westminster graduated 101 students. As students’ time on campus ends our commitment to equipping them does not end. One of our primary goals is to support the continued growth and ministry of our alumni.

One key way that we can support you, our alumni, is through the Westminster Alumni Association. All alumni receive free shipping from wtsbooks.com, the monthly Point of Contact newsletter, Westminster Today magazine, access to the online theological library resource ATLAS, and (in the near future) an alumni e-mail addresss. If you’re not receiving all the benefits described above, please email us at alumni@wts.edu and let us know.

Remember, the alumni office is here to serve you. Please don’t hesitate to call or email anytime we can be of service.

Partnering with you for kingdom purposes,

J. Gresham Machen's Correspondence from World War I

Never before published, here is a glimpse into the formative years of a great campaigner for the faith ... and a stirring example of how the faith of a seminary professor was refined and strengthened through the trials of war.

Westminster alumnus, Barry Waugh (MAR '80, MDiv '81, PhD '02) adds commentary and footnotes to provide essential guidance for fully understanding Machen's service and ministry.

"From these rare letters the reader can see a fresh side of the great scholar. On the battle fields of France he was simply known as a compassionate soul who brought solace to scores of suffering soldiers. For those who only know Machen the polemicist, this volume will showcase Machen the caregiver. ”
- William Edgar, Professor of Apologetics

Did God Really Say?

Rev. Dr. David B. Garner, associate professor of systematic theology, has recently edited a book entitled Did God Really Say?.  This book includes contributions from professors from Westminster, Reformed Theological Seminary, and Covenant Theological Seminary. Contributors include, Drs. David Garner, Vern Poythress, K. Scott Oliphint, John Frame, Michael Kruger, Michael Williams, and Robert Yarbrough.

“Did God really say?” is a fundamental theological question. If God has not spoken clearly, truly, trustworthily, and in human words, then anything goes: believe what you will, act as you wish—no one can fault you.

The church’s historical belief in the truthfulness and trustworthiness of Scripture as God’s written Word is being assaulted from without and from within. In this book, seven scholars from Covenant Theological Seminary, Reformed Theological Seminary, and Westminster Theological Seminary confront and repel many of these attacks. Reasoning clearly, cogently, and carefully, they show that the historical doctrine of Scripture is what Scripture teaches about itself, and that this teaching can meet and defeat the ungodly intellectual schemes brought against it.
