The Christian Counseling & Educational Foundation (CCEF) and Westminster Theological Seminary (WTS) have enjoyed a partnership that goes back almost 50 years. Both are committed to maintaining an effective and crucial partnership to train students for various gospel ministries.
Recently, CCEF and WTS each engaged in strategic planning, focusing on their respective missions, goals, and emerging opportunities. CCEF remains committed to supporting theological education at the seminary level. WTS remains committed to biblical counseling as a necessary component of theological education for those preparing for gospel ministry. What has emerged in our discussions is a vision for partnership in education that will take new forms. CCEF and WTS are excited about these changes. We believe these changes will strengthen both parties for serving the global church.
What will change? The 2016–2017 academic year will be the final year CCEF and WTS provide their traditional, residential Master of Arts in Counseling program. In its place, CCEF and WTS are working together on an exciting, online initiative to offer accredited, seminary-level training in biblical counseling and theology. It will serve both local and global students, enabling education and growth wherever a student’s church or ministry may be located.
Those interested in joining the last incoming class for the residential Master of Arts in Counseling in 2016–2017 should contact admissions@wts.edu.
Update: Our new, online Master of Arts in Counseling program has been approved and will launch in September 2017. For more information about this program, visit online.wts.edu.
