Purpose and Basis for Processing
Our purpose for processing your data is to provide you with updates and information about our activities, upcoming events, fundraising opportunities, and other information about the life of Westminster Theological Seminary. We rely on your consent or our legitimate interest to do so.

What Data is Used
In order to send you our newsletter, we collect information like your email address and, at times, your name. Some information, such as your Internet Protocol (IP) address and/or browser and device characteristics, is also collected when you visit our services. This information includes log and usage data, device data, and location data.

How Data is Collected
We collect data from you either when you subscribe to the newsletter or when you give your information to a Westminster Theological Seminar employee or representative at Seminary activities. We also track general site visitor activity, such as clicks and sessions, through cookies and corresponding Data Analytics services.

How is Data Used
We use your data to send you newsletters and for internal marketing purposes. We gather statistics around things like email openings, clicks, and related information using industry standard technology to help us monitor and improve our communications to serve you well.

How Long Data is Kept
We keep your data for as long as you have not withdrawn consent or objected to such processing of your data. After you withdraw your consent or otherwise object, we will delete your data.

Your Rights
You have the right to withdraw your consent to us processing your data for sending you Westminster Theological Seminary newsletters. Where we rely on our legitimate interest, you can object to the processing of your personal data for this purpose at any time. If at any time you would like to withdraw your consent or object, you can either click on the “Unsubscribe” link on an email newsletter or send an email to communications@wts.edu. If you do that, we will update our records promptly to reflect your desire.

Data Processors and Analytics Services
From time to time, Westminster Theological Seminary will utilize data processors, such as MailChimp and other standard commercial services, to send our newsletters. MailChimp, and any other service that we use, has their own privacy policies as well. We may also share your information with Data Analytics services who perform services for us or on our behalf and require access to such information to do that work. We have contracts in place that are designed to help safeguard your personal information. No third party with whom we contract will share your personal information with any organization apart from us.
